FPT Industrial is today part of the CNH (Case New Holland) group which in turn is part of the multi-national FIAT group.
Dedicated to the development, production and sale of powertrains for On-Road, Off-Road, Marine and Power Generation applications, FPT Industrial can trace its roots back to the early 1900s when it started developing gasoline and diesel engines for heavy duty automotive and industrial applications.
Over the years FPT Industrial have operated under many different brands including FIAT, OM, Iveco Aifo and Iveco Motors, but have consistently been pioneers in diesel engine technology bringing many innovations to market first which are common place in many diesel engines today.
The company employs some 8,400 people on a worldwide basis, spread across 10 plants and 6 Research & Development centres. FPT Industrial can organize its research and development activities twenty-four hours a day, can derive benefits from the specialization and experience of different countries, so achieving important objectives: rapid sharing of information, great synergies of skills and expertise, effective exchange of technical communication. The wide range of products (3 main engine families with power outputs from 85 to 825 HP) are aimed at both leisure and commercial applications and have been developed specifically for each different market sector. Leisure applications typically require competitive performance characterized by high specific power outputs and high torque at low revolutions backed up by low noise and vibrations to create the sensation of powerful yet extremely comfortable navigation. Commercial applications are more characterized by sturdy design and functional layout ensuring reliability and durability.
Low exhaust emissions and noise levels are ensured, without affecting performance or sailing pleasure, backed up by low running costs, thanks to much longer maintenance intervals and superb levels of fuel consumption.
